Freedom to Read Week

Freedom to Read Week (February 22-28) is an annual event that encourages Canadians to think about and reaffirm their commitment to intellectual freedom. This selective booklist features only children’s books and graphic novels that were challenged in public libraries between 2024 and 2026, and is based on the Canadian Library Challenges Database. Each challenge sought to limit public access to these publications in schools, libraries, and elsewhere. Some challenges were upheld; others were rejected.
