This book is technical in some respects and not a light read. But it does provide a comprehensive history of all known nuclear accidents - and exposure to radiation going back to the 19th century, decades before Marie Curie. One interesting highlight is the accident at Chalk River - one of the people who led the cleanup was none other than a young Jimmy Carter, more than two decades before he became US President.
