Boryas family lives in a lighthouse on a remote northern shore. Their lives are altered when the eldest son, Sevastien-Benedikt, brings a woman named Noé, who bears a child, Mie, to Sevastien-Benedikt, and the family’s entrenchment in nature is enthrallingly conveyed in young Mie’s ability to borrow at will the body of mammals, birds, fish, and insects. When her own awakening body starts to intrigue her, it is human sex she is determined to discover.
