Abby Johnson quit her job in October 2009. That simple act became a national news story because Abby was the director of a Planned Parenthood clinic in Texas who, after participating in her first actual abortion procedure, crossed the line to join the Coalition for Life. --Unplanned is a heart stopping personal drama of life-and-death encounters, a courtroom battle, and spiritual transformation that speaks hope and compassion into the political controversy that surrounds this issue. Telling Abby's story from both sides of the abortion clinic property line, this book is a must-have for anyone who cares about the life-versus-rights debate and helping women who face crisis pregnancies. Now available in complete and unabridged audio.

As one may suspect, this book is not necessarily light-hearted, but from the start it is the kindest, most loving & raw take on this topic. I've never heard such an especially gracious voice that shows the massive sphere of eyewitness truth, so I would highly recommend, whichever side of "the fence" one may land on. It paves the way for massive empathy, true understanding, & actual grace for anyone coming into the current dialogue about abortion with AMAZING scope--especially in those surprising moments where one could choose a lower road. Who would know better about both sides of the conversation than this woman? This is a very precious take on a usually touchy topic that condemns no one & really makes one ask deep questions in a safe, kindness-rich space, & doesn't shy away from gentle faith & true love towards all (unhypocritally). Both heartbreaking & resplendent, this a book not to miss. I think the average person will find it may greatly enrich their life. The only difficulty in this autobiography is the truly cold treatment she received from many places in the aftermath of her life-change, but even that is dealt with in an honest, refreshing way.
