The third album from Mark Linkous who, for all intents and purposes, is Sparklehorse. It's a mix of lower-fi home recordings and more full band material, with production from Dangermouse and Dave Fridmann, who has also worked with the Flaming Lips. Lips drummer Steven Drozd also plays on a few songs and the album sometimes feels like the Lips moving to the country, recording in a barn, and channeling broken down blues instead of psychedelic rock. Tom Waits also guests. Linkous would record again with Dangermouse on the "Dark Night of the Soul" project, which featured artwork from David Lynch. Sadly, he committed suicide in 2010.
