I tried this based on staff recommendation. It's pretty solidly country pop. You could take out the steel guitar and the honky-tonk piano and they wouldn't be missed. The band reminded me more of CCR than anything. The only song I enjoyed was the last one. And by the end I wondered why I wasted my time when I could have been listening to Amy Ray's Goodnight Tender or something by the Jayhawks instead.
This is one of the best alt-country albums I've heard in years. It is reminiscent of Uncle Tupelo and very early Wilco.
