This is probably the most accurate depiction of alcoholism I've ever read. It is very raw and painfully real. A quick/must read.

SPOILER ALERT:
I really thought she was going to kill herself for a moment...
but then she didn't. It's somewhat of a happy ending... somewhat...

Not a happy book, but an excellent one. The entire book takes place over one day, and is event and character based; descriptions of surrounding are minimal. I particularly liked how the ending of one chapter linked to the beginning of the next. Can be read in one or two sittings, and it will keep your interest right up to the last page.

unputdownable - tragic, sad and yet compelling.

This book takes you through a particularly rough day of an alcoholic. A day where everything in her life finally unravels. For me, the value in this story comes from how the author reveals the main character to you. In the beginning I found her to be a flat unlikeable character but as the story progresses you are able to see her world through her eyes and you begin to feel empathy for her.
