Read the book but it was not my kind of a good story. About the holocaust and music written by a stranger from years past.

This is the third time I took this book off the shelf in the library but this time I decided to give it a go. It was not exactly as I expected it to be. I was thinking this would be a "Ninth Gate" sort of story and will admit that I was a…

Loved this book! A story around love, the holocaust, music and the gestures that made heroes. Story goes from the 40’s to present, but very easy to follow. Stick with it.....seems a little strange at first but gets better.

I probably would have loved this story more if I played the violin.

This was a different book for Tess Gerritsen and I really enjoyed it. Quite different from the doctor perspective that her books are known for. There were two story lines.......past and present. The past was during World War II in Italy…

While being known for more of a mystery/doctor type book, this book is more about music and the holocaust...and as a music person myself, it intrigued me and at the same time, never saw coming the medical mystery that gets solved near the…

This book was just OK for me. The two stories being told were interesting but the link tying them together was pretty weak. Easy to read in a day.

Gripping! It weaves through time seamlessly. It was compelling from the first chapter to the last. A must read!

This novel is a quick read as it is short - 233 pages. The storyline is compelling told from the perspective of two characters, one, an Italian male musician, living during WWII, and the other, an American female musician. Gerritsen turns…

An enjoyable read. Tess Gerritsen has made a very interesting psychological mystery based round the story of a previously unknown musical score bought in a second-hand book store..

This book is as spell-binding as the music in the story!

As a new reader of Tess Gerritsen’s writing, I was pleasantly surprised with her latest standalone novel, Playing with Fire. An unpublished musical score (Incendio Waltz) is central to two alternating story lines in this gripping tale. …

Different from her usual novel. Good read.

Although Tess Gerritsen is a proven storytelling master, she has outdone herself with this book. Her gift with words, with being able to use them to transport the reader right into the story, is used to take us on a journey into a dark…

I wish Tess would teach a class to writers about how to tell a story. I really loved this novel. It was different for her and she has given us a very surprising ending. She is a master story teller.

Tess Gerritsen is known for her murder suspense novels including the famous Rizzoli and Isles series. This was a pleasant departure from those and did include mystery, but it was different. Enjoyable read and you found yourself…
